Practical experience with implementation of Blockchain in banking environment

We do not have to introduce Blockchain anymore, but everyone has different understanding of this term. Someone is talking about technology, someone about a set of tools leading to decentralized usage of applications.

Why choose to implement blockchain? What leads us to such decision? Do we want to go with the current trends and not be behind in creating innovations, or are we trying to implement solutions based on really targeted parameters? What are its main advantages over standardized centralized use of databases?

We offer insight into the practical implementation of blockchain based on Hyperledger Fabric technology in the banking environment. We will discuss the realization of the project to create a shared database in the context of ATM transaction implementation, together with the creation of smart contracts, as an interface between the parties creating transactions with each other, or to provide a history of transactions and states.

Why we have decided to implement blockchain as a decentralized approach to transaction? We will show how we decided to implement and what we came up with as part of the concept verification. What needs to be done to be able to use such solution, both in terms of implementation, security, but also in terms of operation and integration.

Is it really such a revolutionary technology as everyone talks about blockchain?

Roman Cinkais graduated at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the Charles University in Prague, where started to devote himself to mathematical methods of information security. In this respect, continued as an information security specialist. His main focus is the analysis of security requirements of information systems as well as the design of the measures and protections in the framework of new and existing systems and technologies. In addition to information security, he also dealt with algorithmic trading on capital markets.

Roman is a co-founder and security expert of 3Key Company which is providing global information security related services and products with the simple goal. Protecting critical assets shouldn’t be a complex and expensive task without getting the desired results.

He is also closely collaborating with Diebold Nixdorf as consulting leader and supervisor for technical quality assurance. His focus is on creating measures for information security, especially in public key technologies, multi-factor authentication, biometrics, and cryptographic key management.

Working for certified and regulated companies gives him a deep knowledge of security standards like ISO security standards, PCI related standards, GDPR related topics, and many more.
